The Bethel Resort & Suites

A grand old hotel. A living peace of historical living property. No, there not heated towel holders. No there is not Starbucks in the lobby. But the views and staff wonderful. It is one of those places .You turn your phone off . Pretend it is 1995 and talk to each other. Covid is something the hotel catching up on . TheOldLady needs a new dress and taken dancing again .

Arrived at 3:58pm, closer to the actual check -in time of 4:00pm. Room is not ready until 4:20pm. Once we got into the room, there is some weird smell. Like old clothes sort of smell.nnBathroom is clean but no toiletries. Called the front desk, they said no one is available to deliver the toiletries to the room. Our room is in the separate building, in order to get out, we need to walk over or drive. With freezing rain out there and slippery path, we decided to deal with it using hand soap tonight.nnOne big disappointment is the smell from all the pillows. Same old clothes smell as what we experienced once we walked in. Once I put my head on top of it for a few minutes the smell exaggerates. Solution here is to use our coats to make our own pillows.nnBesides, their wifi sucks! We are at the corner room, signal is poor!nnWhat a miserable first night of stay. SMH!!!!!!!!!

Had supper there. Best meal we have had for a long time. Short ribs and shrimp without the cajun sauce. Hostess was wonderful. Enjoyed our meal!!!

Historic quaint hotel. Loved the restaurant and tavern on the lower level. Our room was spacious and charming. Beautiful grounds. Diana at the front desk made us feel very welcome. Don't hesitate. Get the room with thr fireplace and balcony.

It was a relief to find Bethel Resort and Suites as it was late at night and we had not seen places to stay for a while. We were thankful they had someone at the desk after normal business hours. The room was large and had a fireplace which we loved. Some of the pillows and curtains etc were stained in our room but overall we had a good experience.
