Downtown Grocer and Cafe

After reading the positive Google Maps reviews and looking for a cafe that opened early and was dine in, I checked this cafe out. I had an enjoyable experience, a good Maple 🍁 Latte and Almond Danish, window 🪟 view 🙈 and great 👍 conversation with the owners about the history of Portsmouth.nI learned they opened in August of this year, they own or owned BRGR Bar 🍺, which has great shakes, wanted to be different from other cafes by offering a quick stop 🛑 grocery and tap, no bar 🍻 puns intended, into the hotels🏨 nextdoor.nQuiet music 🎵 played, WiFi and charging ports available.nThe Almond Danish was messy and ended up on my pants 👖, 🎵 let's sing the praises of pants! 🎵 and you can read how not upset I was by it. The powdered sugar just brushed off and I was good 👍 to go!nChocolate croissant 🥐 had a lot of chocolate!nQuick service on an egg 🥚 breakfast sandwich someone ordered to go.nI recommend a visit.

Absolutely amazing coffee and the best baked goods! I love exploring all the different coffee shops in downtown and this one is by far my favorite - great vibes, such kind and friendly staff, good prices compared to other coffee shops in Portsmouth. The caramel latte is SO good and I had the freshest and most yummy blueberry muffin!! Definitely recommend to anyone visiting this summer (great location if you’re staying in hotels downtown as well!!)

It was a pleasure to dine in at the dwntwn grocer + cafe!! I had a sausage, egg, cheese and veggies sandwich and it was the best I’ve ever tasted! Also, the blueberry muffins melt in your mouth with fresh juicy blueberries and very tasty ingredients.

Upon entry I knew they had something unique amongst the hospitality around the seacoast. Some could make the claim of it being a local grocer, however, after a couple of visits it was evident this store was more than just a business for those who ran it.nnThe selection is fun in finding those niche items, their offerings continue to scratch the itch, and most of all, the staff working are genuinely in a position that displays their willingness of being of service and helping out those who’ll come through those doors next.nnIf you haven’t yet, you’re missing out, a gem amongst us in the downtown Portsmouth area.
